The 33rd Independence Day of Ukraine was celebrated in KhNUIA with solemn events (video)

Independence is a treasure that we must protect and defend in order to pass it on to future generations of Ukrainians who will be proud of us today - courageous and steadfast defenders of Ukraine's state independence.


“My Ukraine is united and free”

On August 24, Ukraine celebrates its most important national holiday, Independence Day. This holiday was established in honor of an exceptional historical event - the adoption of the Act of Independence of Ukraine by the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR in 1991. This document crowned the millennial aspirations of the Ukrainian people to have their own sovereign state and determine their own destiny.

On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of Independence, educational events were held for full-time students of the Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs under the slogan “My Ukraine is United and Free”.

Leading specialist of the Human Resources Department Hanna Mititel distributed the information material of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory “Independence of Ukraine - a Beacon of Freedom” among groups of applicants, and the curator of the group SFAP-DSR23-1, Associate Professor of the Department of Socio-Economic Disciplines Svitlana Vyhanyailo, held an online curatorial hour on the topic “Forever free, independent my Ukraine”.

Millions of Ukrainians have always dreamed of their own sovereign state and have created and preserved everything that is now the heritage of Ukrainian culture.


National Flag Day is a holiday for all generations of Ukrainians

All locations of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs held celebrations on the occasion of the National Flag Day and Independence Day of Ukraine. On behalf of the Rector of the University, Police General of the third rank Valerii Sokurenko, the First Vice-Rector, Lieutenant Colonel of Police Viktor Vasylenko congratulated the university staff on these special occasions.

On the eve of the National Flag Day and Independence Day of Ukraine, the Vice-Rector met with the freshmen of the camp training, cadets of the educational and research institutes of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.

Every year, young men and women who have entered Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and chosen the profession of a police officer undergo a camp training. Its purpose is to take measures to adapt young people to educational activities in a higher education institution with specific learning conditions.


Volunteer activities continue

Anastasiia Popova, a second-year student at the Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, is an active volunteer who regularly helps the military. She regularly participates in charity events to raise funds to support those who are defending our country on the front line. Thanks to her efforts, many military personnel have received the necessary assistance.


Day of the State Flag of Ukraine

On August 23, every year since 2004, Ukraine has honored one of its three key state symbols, the blue and yellow flag. It is also a national symbol. A symbol of our Ukrainian identity. A symbol of the struggle for freedom. The blue and yellow combination was established as the Ukrainian national colors during the European "Spring of Nations" in the 19th century.


Introduction to the university for freshmen

During the camp for freshmen, the Department of Social and Humanitarian Work held a video lecture "History and Traditions of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs". Cadets from remote locations of the university joined the event online.


Camp training has started for the first-year students of KhNUIA

At all locations of the university, the first formation in the life of young men and women who chose the police profession took place. Traditionally, the celebrations began with the introduction of the University Flag, the State Flag of Ukraine was raised on the flagpole, and the National Anthem was performed. A minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of all those who died defending Ukraine.
