The Department of Socio-Economic Disciplines in Sumy Branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs was established in 2006. The department consists of highly qualified specialists, including candidates of sciences and associate professors. The department conducts a variety of educational, methodological and scientific activities.

Strategy (directions of mission implementation)

The department is a team of highly qualified specialists who teach students to navigate freely in the complex world of socio-economic problems and tasks by:

• development of methodological support for the educational process according to modern requirements for the training of high-level specialists;
• organization of round tables and discussions on topical issues of economic development;
• active cooperation with other educational institutions;
• organization of students meetings with practical workers;
• active participation in the work of all-Ukrainian and international scientific and practical conferences;
• management of students' scientific research and the scientific circle;
• participation in the organization of students scientific conferences;
• carrying out educational and organizational work with students of curatorial groups.

The task of the department is the organization and implementation of the educational process in theoretical and applied economic, economic and legal, as well as informational disciplines at a highly professional scientific and methodological level, taking into account the requirements of the Bologna process.

The department's priority areas of development are:

• raising the quality level of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department through constant self-improvement and self-education;
• use of the results of scientific research as a basis for scientific and methodological support for the training of specialists;
• work on the modernization of the educational process through the further implementation of the latest learning technologies and forms of the educational process organization, their providing with appropriate scientific, methodological and didactic materials;
• ensuring the dynamism of the individual trajectory of scientific and pedagogical activity of teachers in accordance with changes in the educational and informational environment of the higher school and within the framework of the University development program.
