On May 8, Ukraine, together with the whole world, celebrates the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation. On this day, cadets of Sumy Branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs took part in a city event dedicated to the memory of all victims of the Second World War of 1939-1945, which killed about 10 million Ukrainians.

Valerii Matus, a lecturer at the Department of Legal Disciplines of Sumy Branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, took part in the webinar "Information Exchange within the framework of the Days of Joint Action", organized by the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform in Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine) in cooperation with the European Union Agency for  Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) and the TOPCOP project.

Hanna Dovhopolova, Associate Professor of the Department of Humanities of Sumy Branch of KhNUIA, and first-year cadets discussed the theoretical and practical foundations of corruption as a social phenomenon, identified the factors that determine its spread during the curatorial hour

As part of the day off, 2nd year cadets of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, who are involved in amateur artistic groups, visited Sumy National Theater of Drama and Musical Comedy named after M.S. Shchepkin, where they watched a patriotic concert "Liberty. Freedom. Victory".

On May 8, Ukraine and the free world remember six terrible years in human history. From 1939 to 1945... Years that took the lives of millions of people, including 8 million Ukrainians. The years of occupation and atrocities, bloody battles, bombings, blockades and mass executions, and the Holocaust. All the evil that Nazism brought to the world, it brought to our land.

Cadets and employees of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs attended the recitals of Honored Artist of Ukraine Kostiantyn Oboznyi "I Invite Friends" and Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Yevhen Radchenko "Both Heart and Soul" at Sumy Regional Philharmonic.

The cadets of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs took part in the "Presentation-Training" organized by the Department of Youth Policy of Sumy City Council. The event was held at the Romantika Youth Center with the participation of young people from higher education institutions of Sumy.

Valentyna Vasylenko, Head of the Department of Humanities of Sumy Branch of KhNUIA, together with Oleksii Shumilo, Professor of the Department of Legal Disciplines of Sumy Branch of KhNUIA, conducted a binary online class in the disciplines "Ukrainian Language for Professional Purposes" and "Theory of State and Law" for 1st year students majoring in Law.

In April, Volodymyr Dementov, Associate Professor of the Department of Socio-Economic Disciplines of Sumy Branch of KhNUIA, Candidate of Science in Public Administration, successfully completed online courses of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and received the appropriate electronic certificates.

Maksym Ananko, a first-year cadet of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, held a series of meetings with school graduates from his hometown of Buryn, Sumy region. He acquainted school graduates with the history of the university, educational services that can be obtained at Sumy branch, demonstrated career guidance materials on the peculiarities of admission to Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs in 2023
