103 years ago, on January 22, 1919, a significant event in Ukrainian history took place – the Act of Unity of Ukraine. It had political, historical and psychological significance. Political, because the two republics, the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Western Ukrainian People's Republic, have merged into one state.
Applicants for higher education and curators of Sumy branch of KhNUIA visited the exposition "We are Ukrainians", which was prepared by Sumy Museum of Local History for the Day of Unity of Ukraine. Cadets and students heard the first anthem, which was played this day 103 years ago. They also got acquainted with a copy of the Act of Unification and heard the history of the battle for independence and indivisibility of the country in 1919.
High school students of the 11th grade of Shostka city visited Shostka District Police Department of the MDNP in Sumy Region, where they got acquainted with the work of its departments and sectors. The meeting with the graduates of the schools was joined by the 2nd year cadets of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, who are currently undertaking an internship in practical units of the National Police.

2nd year cadets of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, police officers Yevhen Trofymenko and Daria Hryshchenko together with the inspector of juvenile prevention of Lebedyn region Tetiana Krynytska gave lectures at Lebedyn Vocational Medical College named after M.I. Sitenko on measures to combat drug, psychotropic trafficking and precursors and their excessive use.
On January 19, on the day of Epiphany, church services and water consecration took place in Sumy region. 97 cadets of the 2nd year of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, who are currently practicing in police practical units of Sumy region, took part in ensuring the safety of citizens and maintaining public order during the festivities.
Director of the Sumy Center for Primary Vocational Training "Police Academy" of Sumy branch of KhNUIA Oleksandr Minchenko, inspector of Sumy branch Serhii Paniotov and lecturers of the cycle of special disciplines Mykola Pidoima and Vadym Semenozhenko held career guidance meetings in Sumy region.
Professor of the Department of Legal Disciplines Nataliia Horobets took part as a juror of the Zarichnyi District Court of Sumy in resolving the case on the application for declaring person as dead.
An online meeting with future entrants and their parents took place at the Sumy branch of KhNUIA. Representatives of the higher education institution told about the branch and the peculiarities of education, acquainted with the prospects of employment after graduation.
On January 13, parents of two 12-year-old girls from Sumy contacted the police and said that in the morning girls went to school and did not return, they did not answer the calls, their whereabouts were unknown.
