On August 24, Ukraine celebrates its most important national holiday, Independence Day. This holiday was established in honor of an exceptional historical event - the adoption of the Act of Independence of Ukraine by the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR in 1991. This document crowned the millennial aspirations of the Ukrainian people to have their own sovereign state and determine their own destiny.

On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of Independence, educational events were held for full-time students of the Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs under the slogan “My Ukraine is United and Free”.

Leading specialist of the Human Resources Department Hanna Mititel distributed the information material of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory “Independence of Ukraine - a Beacon of Freedom” among groups of applicants, and the curator of the group SFAP-DSR23-1, Associate Professor of the Department of Socio-Economic Disciplines Svitlana Vyhanyailo, held an online curatorial hour on the topic “Forever free, independent my Ukraine”.

Millions of Ukrainians have always dreamed of their own sovereign state and have created and preserved everything that is now the heritage of Ukrainian culture.
